The Resurgence of Art: SW Painting Festival 2022 Breathes Life into Cultural Expression

Warta Ekonomi, Jakarta – Various efforts were made to revive art and cultural exhibitions after the pandemic. One of them is the 2022 SW Painting Festival, with the theme “Astungkara, Rise Together with Bali”

SW Indonesia through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program will hold the SW Painting Festival 2022. With the theme “Astungkara, Bangkit Together Bali”, it will present 5 Balinese artists and their paintings in all provinces where SW Indonesia’s offices are located, namely Bali, Tangerang, Surabaya and Jakarta.

To organize this activity, SW Indonesia collaborated with The Azterix Event Management to build CSR collaborations with leading property developers, shopping centers, and hotels in the three cities. Strategic collaboration to help the wider community like this is expected to be able to bring Indonesia up.

Opening Ceremony of SW Painting Festival 2022 in Surabaya

The SW Painting Festival 2022 in Surabaya officially opened on July 16, 2022, located at Ciputra World Mall, Surabaya. The opening was opened by the Head of the Surabaya SW Indonesia Branch, Ronny Budisantoso.

The SW Painting Festival 2022 event was inaugurated by cutting a ribbon by representatives of Ciputra World Surabaya and the leadership of SW Indonesia in Surabaya, located at the Oval East Atrium of Ciputra World Mall. The SW Painting Festival 2022 in Surabaya is a CSR collaboration between SW Indonesia, Ciputra World Mall, Ciputra World Hotel, and Ciputra Property Developer.

The masterpieces on display are the works of five Balinese artists who have exhibited their paintings in various countries before the pandemic. The five painters are I Nyoman Sujana Kenyem, I Made Wiradana, I Ketut Sugantika (Lekung), Teja Astawa and I Wayan Suastama with an artist coordinator from Ubud named I Ketut Suantara (Roy). The series of SW Painting Festival 2022 events at Ciputra World Surabaya were carried out with an opening ceremony, talk show, and workshop.

The opening ceremony began with remarks from the Head of the Surabaya SW Indonesia Branch, Ronny Budisantoso. In his speech he said, the SW Painting Festival is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity to support the creative economy. The year 2022 begins with social activities to preserve the culture of the nation and state of Bali.

“This event is held with the aim of helping Balinese artists to market their paintings by facilitating the works of the artists so that they can be appreciated by the public in three different cities in July-August 2022,” said Ronny.

Appreciation and Partnerships

SW Solution’s Managing Partner, Yuliana Setiawati, appreciates the Ciputra property developer, especially the Hotel and Mall business unit, who supports and cares for the preservation of the arts and culture of the Indonesian Nation. CSR collaboration with Ciputra Development, which is a world-class leading developer, strengthens the echo of SW Indonesia’s reflective theme.

The first and second day of the event were also enlivened by Lantriningsih Soegianto and Julian Lukito, who are SW Indonesia Partners in Surabaya. Talkshow and Workshop

The talkshow and workshop in Surabaya were led by Balinese painters who were present, namely I Nyoman Sujana Kenyem and I Made Wiradana. The two artists presented the process of painting using crayons, as well as how to foster creativity during painting to children and teenagers. High enthusiasm from Mall visitors and workshop participants excited this painting exhibition. Painting can be a medium to relieve fatigue, trigger imagination, a source of inspiration or a long-term investment.

Expansion to Other Cities

SW Indonesia CEO Michell Suharli welcomed the implementation of the SW Painting Festival in Surabaya. Michell told how concern about Bali’s slump during the pandemic, especially the artists who were found unable to exhibit, was the beginning of the trigger for the idea of ​​holding CSR to help painters.

From Bali Province, the paintings and painters will be presented in Tangerang City, Banten Province from 02 to 10 July 2022. From Tangerang, the paintings and painters will be presented in Surabaya City from 16-24 July 2022. After Surabaya, the paintings and painters will be brought to Surabaya. Jakarta City from 06-14 August 2022.
